Welcome

NC Science Communications was founded in May 2023, shortly after receiving Cum Laude from North Carolina State University with my Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences, with and interdisciplinary focus in Communications and a minor in Political Science. The Science Communicators of North Carolina (SCONC) and Sigma Xi organizations supported my professional development during my time with NC State and beyond. I received a certificate from Sigma Xi's Science Policy Bootcamp in summer 2022. I am a member of The Wildlife Society (TWS) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). My thesis was Science Communication: Nonhuman Animals in the Sciences which is available on my LinkedIn page for review. While pursuing my degree I worked for The Very Berry Lab, a research lab that support Small Fruits Extension and Research for strawberry and viticulture. In October 2023, I joined Kerr-Tar Regional Council of Government as their Regional  Project Manager and led the development for Digital Inclusion Planning for the five-county region; Franklin, Granville, Person, Vance, and Warren. As their grant writer I have pursued several grant opportunities by providing technical assistance to member governments and local nonprofit organizations. My passion is developing programming that supports a flourishing, civil society for humans and nonhuman animals.
